I live and create in Herzliya Israel.
Art lives and breath within me, in my mind and in my fingertips ever since I was a child. For me, it's an emotional need.
"Creation cleans the soul from day to day dust" (Pablo Picasso)
For many years I was a teacher, and along my work, I practiced various fields of art- fashion, jewelry crafting and theater. After retiring – I could final devote myself for painting.
Here I found the ultimate way for me to let my thoughts and feelings out in the open.
I love painting people, situations – and mostly women. Women are my source of inspiration. Every woman has many faces, and many capabilities, through her, I channel my memories and tell my story.
She symbolizes who I am, who I wanted to be, my dreams, ambitions, victories, challenges, forces and vulnerabilities. Life.
I create my story using collage technique and acrylic painting. Ever since I started creating with this technique, I feel my imagination is evolving. I simply love it.
Newspapers, journals, photographs, old books, fabrics, and many more, have become my best friends, helping me find a rich world of inspiration.
This technique requires hours long of patiently searching, but at the end of the road, awaits a puzzle, bringing added value to the piece, depth, and different layers of expressions. A work of art that can touch, speak, and maybe tell others something about themselves.

Curator's Note – Orit Lotringer
Orit Halpern presents an impressive collection of women feminine figures. Her work is based on acrylic painting, occasionally combined with collages of magazine clippings. They refer to her own complex being, and femininity in general. Her art reflects experiences, an array of memories from her inner, private world, reaching out to a world of comics, Grotesque and expressionism. Orit's art collection combines content and visual messages, that are in a sense "a journey to womanhood", telling a story, creating "the cinema of life". Focusing on women, is as result of as a direct, uncompromising view of a woman's journey, and the insights of a woman as a strong, survivor, active. "Dancing the dance of life". Through the women images in the paintings, one can identify an array of feelings such as frustration, agitation, longings, desires, chaos, joy, and cultural atmospheres. The feminine figures featured in the paintings are different from one another. Each has her own unique characteristics. Sometimes they look distorted, frightened – and at times smiling on the beach in bathing suits, putting on makeup in front of the mirror - or present as "Wonder-Woman", forceful, beautiful or grotesque. From time to time, a gun image appears as a tattoo on their skin, or as a unique piece of jewelry, there to protect in case of trouble. And like life itself, the women figure express channels of vitality and paradoxically channels filled with post traumatic stress. Orit worked as a teacher, director, and theater instructor.
